Museums and Collections
How can a cannon be a souvenir? Our group found an object in a case about the seaside in South Shields Museum they did not understand. So they asked Keeper of Social History, Adam Bell, all about it and were surprised to learn it was collectable.
Places change and not everybody remembers what it used to be like so local museums have an important job in collecting ordinary objects that might otherwise be lost. If you have found something remarkable in your local museum let us know and we might make a film about it.
